On 13 October 1917, a crowd soaked by rain stood on a hillside near Fatima, Portugal, while three shepherd children knelt to pray. Our Lady of Fatima Miracle of the Sun Sacred Songs for October Rosary Devotion brings that day into your home: ten slow, prayerful songs for the month of the Rosary.

The prayer journey

The album follows Lúcia, Francisco and Jacinta, and the Lady who asked them to pray the Rosary every day for peace. It moves from childlike faith to a tired family that keeps praying, from loneliness carried to the Immaculate Heart of Mary to perseverance in the rain, and from the sign of the sun to the God who made it. It ends on the road home by candlelight. At every step, Mary points to her Son.

• Slow, gentle English vocals with soft organ, piano, harp, nylon-string guitar and cello

• Refrains inspired by the Fatima candlelight processions
• A Byzantine-inspired chant and a Renaissance-inspired a cappella hymn
• An American folk hymn and a spiritual-inspired prayer

A gentle note

This is a digital album. Nothing will be shipped to you.

These are newly composed devotional songs, not liturgical texts, and they have no ecclesiastical approval. The Church judged the Fatima apparitions worthy of belief in 1930, and Francisco and Jacinta were canonized in 2017. Like all private revelation, Fatima is not an article of faith. Our Lady intercedes and always leads us to Jesus; this music promises no particular outcome. For personal, non-commercial listening only; see the personal-use licence below.
